Below is the Instrument of Abdication of His Majesty King Edward VIII, who left the Throne so as he could marry his twice-divorced fiancee Wallis Simpson. After his abdication, he became His Royal Highness Prince Edward, the Duke of Windsor, and Wallis become the Duchess of Windsor, although she wasn't granted the title Her Royal Highness, which is something the late King never forgave the British Establishment for.
